Need a place to relax? San Antonio, Texas may be the place for you. Sure, there is a whole lot of traffic during rush hour but the traffic is better of then you probably would imagine. Even though San Antonio is the seventh largest city in the United States, it does not show up on the top 25 worst cities for traffic; according to the INRIX. So, why is SA so relaxing?
The people make all the difference. Everywhere you turn people are naturally friendly and helpful. Yes, there are always a few who ruin it no matter what you go but SA seems to have less of them. When coming from a region not known for its hospitality, it can be surprising. On our last visit, I took my son to an awesome ice cream store called Brindles. When we left, he said, “That’s the best ice cream store in the world. The lady was so helpful!” Did my son focus on how great the ice cream tasted? No. He was blown away about the attitude he encountered from the people working there. We could give many examples just like this one all over the city.
The weather is usually warm. The average temperature in January is 68 degrees Fahrenheit and 96 degrees in August. If you’re coming from up North, what better way to help relax then to have sunshine warm your bones? I almost froze one year in New Hampshire and I remember thinking to myself, “If I can just get into a hot tub, I could finally get warm. The heat from the Texas sun can have the same desired effect.
If you’re a first time tourist, you are probably heading towards the San Antonio riverwalk. Walking along the water gives you experience of new and historical surroundings. The landscaping and the atmosphere really create a pleasant walking experience.
Last thing is the cost of living. This helps release some of the stress on the amount of money you spend on vacation.
